很多事情都是這樣開始的。

從六年前的夏天在北門路的二手唱片行裡撿到美國獨立廠牌 Matador的合輯 What's up Matador裡 的第一首歌,到2000年我沒能躬逢其盛的野台開唱,到大二那年枯燥的暑假實習,在畢業典禮上偷偷把這首歌放進歌單,或是入伍前一天在電腦裡反覆播 放.......正如影片中 Yo La Tengo的團員幫披頭四暖場的妄想,這首歌對我而言是代表一種強烈而無奈的執念,無奈是來自於缺乏目的與實現的能力。然而當我終於真正拿起鼓棒,坐上鼓手席的時候,很多事情卻開 始模糊起來......

註: Tom Courtenay是英國60年代的知名演員,著名作品包括 The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), Billy Liar (1963) Dr. Zhivago (齊瓦哥醫生,1965)在後面兩部電影裡與 Julie Christie共同演出。Eleanor Bron曾參與披頭四的電影Help! (1965)的演出,所以歌詞中的 Paul理當是指 Paul McCartney。在近期的電影裡仍不時可以看到這三位演員的演出。
